See more Michael M @PlantEnvy Jan 1 I’m vegan, I support vegan media, and I want films like this to succeed, so I hosted a watch party. My optimism lasted about 15 minutes. This movie is terrible! The acting, dialogue, and storyline are terrible. Characters drift in and out, scenes don’t flow, and it often feels like entire pages of the script are missing. The camera work only adds to the problem, with awkward shots and pacing that constantly pull you out of the film. It felt like an unintentional parody. We ended up laughing through most of it, not because it was clever, but because it was absurd. Honestly, it felt like the vegan version of a bad Christian movie: heavy-handed message, weak craft, and an assumption that shared beliefs will excuse poor filmmaking. The glowing reviews feel less like honest critique and more like encouragement from friends, family, or people unwilling to think objectively. Supporting a cause shouldn’t suspend discernment. I don’t usually go for zombie or horror movies, but I do love a good indie film and this one really surprised me. The storyline was solid and kept me engaged the whole time. Seeing Indy the pup was a highlight :), and it was also fun spotting cameos from famous vegans I’ve watched on YouTube. Definitely a must see film! The acting was horrendous, the cinematography was quite mediocre, every person basically had the same personality, there was virtually no character development and very little character drama, the lines were so bad and cringe, and overall it was just horrible. The only people who had a semblance of good acting were the actors who portrayed Katie and Drew. And to note, I'm a vegan activist who loves supporting the work of other vegans. But this was just bad. There was nothing good about this. I mean, there was virtually no real emotional reaction to Harley's best friend being killed.
