A theatrical impresario, Charles Pentwick (Hugh Wakefield), takes off for his country estate to get some much-needed peace after his wife (Helen Shingler) accuses him of having an affair with a young actress. But any attempt at solace is ruined when Pentwick's theater troupe shows up, with their girlfriends and wives tagging along.
