Cushing, unsurprisingly, is great, and Morell is sensational, in maybe the best role he ever had, as the sinister yet curiously charismatic thief. Go to Full Review

An excellent blend of a bank heist film, a keenly observed workplace study and a Christmas story. Go to Full Review

Chris P @ChrissPee 1d A great film from the famed Hammer studios, although starring the horror stalwart Peter Cushing this is a heist movie. Andre Morrell plays the criminal mastermind who comes to Cushing's bank with a scheme. The story plays out at a good rate and the final scene leaves the viewer wondering if everyone is quite as they seem. This movie should be better known and if Cushing's great performance had been noticed his future roles may have been different. See more Russ G @RT78760655 Dec 20 A bit overdone but I could forgive all that if it weren't for a rotten ending that resolves nothing. If the whole point was that a curmudgeonly manager got his comeuppance at Christmas time, well, it's been done before and done better. See more Mary H @RT74388292 07/25/2025 The story plays out within the few rooms of the small English bank (not unlike Hitchcock’s Dial M For Murder) and it’s very well shot and directed. Acting is superb..I especially enjoyed Peter Cushing..and all characters are cleverly scripted. A fun Christmas movie of an unusual type. Highly recommended. See more Josh R @RT27661070 12/25/2024 Brilliant acting, especially by Peter Сushing! A fairly well-made thriller that, despite its simplicity, keeps you hooked until the very end... See more Bill B @RT01438538 06/06/2024 Decent bank-heist drama with some light-hearted moments. Cushing, Morell and Vernon are all very good. The ending was a bit convoluted, but otherwise pretty solid. See more nick s @Nick_S 11/01/2023 The ending fell a liitle flat for me, but it was a very engaging ride. A tour de force from the lead actors See more Read all reviews
