In 2039, one Corporation -- owned by a handful of elite families, and run by a sociopathic CEO -- effectively rules much of the world. The population has been genetically modified to be dependent on regular doses of Preytel -- one pill every eight hours. Miss a pill and you die. Rand, a senior geneticist, and Jill, head of IT security, are lovers -- in defiance of company non-fraternization policy. Through a chance meeting with a prisoner (Sandy), combined with her IT access, Jill discovers that she will soon also "disappear" -- a fate common to any who transgress against strict corporate rules. Jill makes a fateful decision that launches Rand on a quest to take down the CEO and the handful of elites that control The Corporation.
