Blake- N @PBSAniDom 2d FernGully 2: The Magical Rescue is a mediocre sequel that doesn’t quite capture the magic of the original. While it tries to continue the spirit of the story, it often feels more like a simple extension rather than a meaningful follow-up. The animation and presentation are serviceable, but they lack the same charm, detail, and energy that made the first film memorable. The story moves along predictably, without offering much that feels fresh or especially engaging. Overall, it’s an okay watch for younger audiences or completionists of the series, but it doesn’t stand out as a strong continuation. It sits firmly in the "average sequel" category for me. I rate it a 4/10. See more Levi S @RT46696702 03/05/2025 This is the worst animated movie in existence. An absolute disgrace to humanity and the entire film making industry. Voice acting: terrible. Plot: atrocious. Characters: garbage and completely different from the first film. Robbin Williams: nonexistent. Case closed. See more Chynna B @RT79671023 11/22/2023 The protagonist is barely in the film. The grandpa said something out of line to his granddaughter that was not funny. Also, there are many animation mistakes. See more 01/30/2022 Oh boy... What I want to say about this film. When making a sequel to a movie, one thing you should do is make sure you say the first film and understand what it did right, and what to improve. The folks who made this either didn't do that, or didn't care. This film flanderizes beloved characters, puts the main protagonist from the first film on the sidelines, and makes everyone look like idiots, to start with. And that's not getting into the downgrade in animation and the trainwreck of a story. I will be reviewing this in full at a later time, but one thing I want to say: FernGully deserves a new lease on life, but this sequel doesn't do the film any favors. This is a disappointing film, a disappointing sequel, a disappointing animated movie... It's just a disappointment. See more 03/08/2021 The first one was my nostalgic movie, I remember watching it but for this one, it kinda sucks coz, Robin Williams is missing on this 2nd movie, and the story kind of degraded. but it was still fun to watch, I feel like a kid again, wooosh! See more 09/24/2019 Yeah yeah, this DTV sequel is cheap, has no Robin Williams and serves as a cautionary tale on just how bad the first film could've been. Can I go review better movies now?
