Par H @Parhwy Jul 22 Sunshine (2024) is a 92-minute-long Filipino drama I saw on Netflix in July 2026. This a curious film: by curious I mean unexpected and by curious I mean it’s presentation of a sensitive subject (in any country let alone in the Philippines) (teen pregnancy). I am a pro-choice atheist so this film was more than curious, it was in part infuriating (not the film, what it was portraying of Filipino society and culture): I get mad when medicine/science gets usurped by superstition/religion. Annika Co, as Bata – acting, directing, make-up, - is so engaging, she is clearly thriving in this role. Rewatch? Maybe. Recommend? Yes. 7/10. See more Read all reviews
