Biography:

I'm a Seattle city girl trying to make it as a film critic and freelance entertainment journalist in the wilds of Washington State. When I'm not watching (and writing about) movies, I also read (constantly), eat out (mmmmm - mexican food), shop (you can never have enough shoes), hang out with friends, play softball & basketball, watch the SuperSonics avidly (even if they do, at the moment, stink) and have far too unhealthy a fascination with Kelly Clarkson.

Favorites:

I hate this question. There are far too many to list.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026) 78% 2.5/4 EDIT “The new film is like a pleasant visit with old friends; just don’t go into it anticipating anything more than that.” – MovieFreak.com May 1, 2026 Full Review Michael (2026) 39% 1.5/4 EDIT “The whole thing is a hagiographic nightmare that only works as well as it does because the music is so undeniably brilliant. But there’s no there, there. None.” – MovieFreak.com Apr 24, 2026 Full Review Mother Mary (2026) 72% 3.5/4 EDIT “Mother Mary is an impressively labyrinthine sojourn into creation, art, music, and interpersonal connection that eschew gender, sexuality, and societal norms to become something else entirely. Something new. Something mythic.” – MovieFreak.com Apr 24, 2026 Full Review You, Me & Tuscany (2026) 66% 3/4 EDIT “You, Me & Tuscany is old-school Hollywood romcom hokum.” – MovieFreak.com Apr 24, 2026 Full Review The Drama (2026) 76% 1.5/4 EDIT “While there’s plenty of food for thought, by the time this cinematic meal concluded, I still felt famished. Even worse, I was angry at Borgli for cooking up such a frustratingly unsatisfying banquet in the first place.” – MovieFreak.com Apr 5, 2026 Full Review The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026) 42% 1/4 EDIT “I found it all deeply annoying.” – MovieFreak.com Apr 5, 2026 Full Review They Will Kill You (2026) 65% 3/4 EDIT “They Will Kill You isn’t without its issues, but it still manages to slay the majority of them with a crooked smile, a windmill kick to the head, and a swift meat cleaver thrust to the side of the neck.” – MovieFreak.com Apr 5, 2026 Full Review Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026) 74% 3/4 EDIT “Even if it does take a bit to justify its existence, Ready or Not 2 still ends up being a suitably fun night out at the movies, just not as much of one as the first feature was.” – MovieFreak.com Mar 24, 2026 Full Review Project Hail Mary (2026) 94% 3/4 EDIT “As far as rousing, interstellar science fiction pulp adventures are concerned, directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller pull out all the stops with the monumentally entertaining Project Hail Mary.” – MovieFreak.com Mar 24, 2026 Full Review undertone (2025) 74% 1.5/4 EDIT “I will see films in 2025 that I will dislike far more than I do writer-director Ian Tuason’s undertone. I doubt I will see many that I will find nearly as disappointing.” – MovieFreak.com Mar 13, 2026 Full Review THE BRIDE! (2026) 57% 4/4 EDIT “Calling this invigorating cinematic caterwaul magnificent would be an injustice. It’s so much better than that.” – MovieFreak.com Mar 7, 2026 Full Review Hoppers (2026) 94% 3.5/4 EDIT “Pixar returns to the head of the animation class with Hoppers, a vibrant, imaginative, and, best of all, exceedingly funny flight of zany madness that is sure to send audiences out of the theater sporting a gigantic smile.” – MovieFreak.com Mar 7, 2026 Full Review Scream 7 (2026) 31% 1.5/4 EDIT “Maybe, after 30 years of success, it’s finally time to pull the plug and let Sidney Prescott be.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 27, 2026 Full Review Jimpa (2025) 52% 3/4 EDIT “I was moved. I can’t help but hope others will be as well.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 23, 2026 Full Review How to Make a Killing (2026) 44% 2/4 EDIT “If one wanted a case study on how far a charming ensemble can carry an otherwise mediocre motion picture, writer-director John Patton Ford’s How to Make a Killing would be a terrific place to start.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 23, 2026 Full Review Wuthering Heights (2011) 69% 4/4 EDIT “I loved it, and I have this sneaky suspicion my affinity for Arnold’s breathlessly austere adaptation will only grow as the years go by.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 16, 2026 Full Review Wuthering Heights (2026) 57% 2/4 EDIT “If there’s a textbook definition of the term "maximalist," this motion picture would be it.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 16, 2026 Full Review The Mortuary Assistant (2026) 36% 2/4 EDIT “Rebecca’s battle against the forces of evil isn’t so much all for naught as it is boringly routine. Holland deserves better. For that matter, so does the audience.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 16, 2026 Full Review Send Help (2026) 93% 3.5/4 EDIT “The moral to the story? Don’t disrespect, ridicule, or look down on the Linda Liddle’s of the world. They’ll only take so much and, when they finally decide to fight back, there will be justified hell to pay.” – MovieFreak.com Feb 16, 2026 Full Review Mercy (2026) 25% 1/4 EDIT “At least it’s funny. I do have to give Mercy that.” – MovieFreak.com Jan 23, 2026 Full Review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% 3.5/4 EDIT “Armageddon has rarely been this beautiful. Or this profound.” – MovieFreak.com Jan 16, 2026 Full Review A Private Life (2025) 80% 3.5/4 EDIT “Zlotowski’s frisky handling of the material is difficult to resist, as are many of the romantic and comedic interludes that are liberally sprinkled throughout the proceedings. A Private Life is a lot of fun to watch.” – MovieFreak.com Jan 16, 2026 Full Review Primate (2025) 78% 3/4 EDIT “My stomach twisted in a series of knots that remained there long after the film concluded.” – MovieFreak.com Jan 9, 2026 Full Review Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) 66% 3/4 EDIT “As much as I did enjoy Avatar: Fire and Ash, I’m ready for Cameron to move on to telling new stories far removed from this one.” – MovieFreak.com Jan 1, 2026 Full Review The Housemaid (2025) 73% 3/4 EDIT “It’s a goofily inspired romp through sex, violence, gaslighting, female empowerment, and bloody revenge, its core events centered around two titanically exuberant performances from stars Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney that are difficult to resist.” – MovieFreak.com Jan 1, 2026 Full Review
