Ian S @FuggyWugginshyre Oct 27, 2026 Stanley tucci is absolutely the best part of this film. I found myself getting tired of the“Other Side” narrative with our deceased protagonist very quickly. It got a little too cheesy for me and not in a fun way. See more Blake A @RT10801553 Oct 24, 2026 Easily the biggest waste of time. So many scenes are there to make you mad at the main character who does nothing but goof off and does nothing to help catch her killer. The only character who shows any agency is the father who accomplishes nothing and only suffers for it. This is the opposite of a movie. Nothing of note happens after the first main event.. they just romanticize the victim for 2 hours and do nothing. The mom is based btw. She just goes vacation and forgets about the daughter. Pretty funny. She didn’t want to be a part of this goofy ah movie. See more CJ R @RT43095980 Oct 12, 2026 First time watching in 2026 because of my wife was mistake number one. A family is torn by the loss of their daughter, somehow people can see her yet that’s not explored more. The father finally gets the chance to pursue the predator, and gets beat up. All of the scenes in the other world are pointless. The sister finding the book only to come home and there be a 5 minute family reunion scene is out of place and unnecessary while simultaneously wasting precious time. The psychic girl not trying to stop the safe from being dumped but instead shapeshifting just to get a kiss? Dumb. If the book is like this movie, there’s no reason to read it. See more Oaklee D @ODie63 Aug 23, 2026 Yeah I didn't enjoy this one, the film essentially progressed as follows "I'm dead now I'm angry, now I'm not angry anymore oh well I'm out of here see ya" then the film ends with no pay off at all for any of the plot points that were weakly explored throughout... Peter Jackson dropped the ball here. See more Chris S @Janomi Aug 10, 2026 The Lovely Bones is good because Saoirse Ronan gives the movie its emotional center. Susie is innocent, observant, frightened, and heartbroken, and Ronan makes her presence felt even from beyond life. She gives the film a tenderness that keeps it from becoming only about tragedy. Stanley Tucci is deeply unsettling as George Harvey. He plays him with a quiet, ordinary menace that feels more disturbing than a louder villain would have been. The movie is strongest when it focuses on how Susie’s death fractures her family, with Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, and Rose McIver showing grief, denial, anger, and survival. Peter Jackson’s afterlife imagery is ambitious and often beautiful, but the movie is trying to be a murder mystery, grief drama, supernatural fantasy, and coming-of-age story all at once. Those pieces do not always fit, but the emotion still works. See more Rafael A @RT27395722 Jul 17, 2026 Too much fantasy, so little drama. The cuts between the real life murderer discovery and the in-between state of Suzie just kills the flow of the movie. If not the fantasy world parts this movie could be 10 times better. Should have been a dark and stressful film. See more Read all reviews
