What to Know

Critics Consensus

Tense, nicely shot, and uncommonly intelligent, The Crazies is a horror remake that, unusually, works.

Mediocre acting and a tired plotline ruins what's left of the movie. Go to Full Review

While it loses the charm of Romero's low-budget clunkiness, it is in all other regards superior. Go to Full Review

The aesthetic upgrade from the original makes this the rare instance in which a reboot is just as good, if not better, than the source material. Go to Full Review

It's not the most original film but Timothy Olyphant held this down as the lead. It's a harrowing story that has a dark ending, which hurts your desire to rewatch this but it's still solid. Go to Full Review

While this does have many beats that are similar to films in this genre, the leads were strong and there was some haunting imagery that makes this an interesting watch. The opening baseball scene is really effective. Go to Full Review

CaptCha N @RT98053171 4d One of those MUST SEE'S! I remember when this came out, The Sheriff: Timothy Olyphant was at the peak of his career. If he was in a movie or show, it became BETR. In this particular cinema, his co-star Joe Anderson the Deputy was phenomenal. A Walking Dead Shane like performance, this movie can be a cousin of the walking dead's first 2 seasons. Which were the only good seasons. Anyways, the film ends on a high note of a possible part 2. That obviously never happened and i don't think we ever saw Tim & Joe work together again after this. Shame, Not like his deputy would be around for the next wave of heii. There was a moment towards the end when it seems like Tim should have gotten infected. He used a knife that was already stuck in his hand to kill one of the infected, pulled it out the wrong way, the blade that went into the infected came right back through his hand. The writers did a good job to distract us from it. I guess they did want to leave a possible part2 alive. But SUPERB title. Just a wasted opportunity. Of course I live Timothy Olyphant. This could have been a really gory, really entertaining gorefest zombie movie. But... it wasn't... Honestly I don't really remember anything from it either. See more Julio C. @Juliosurfer Oct 19 Good new era zombie movie. See more Shawn R @satiable Sep 26 Just a great crazy flick all around.
