The calibre of interviewees and the level of their insights in Alexandre O. Philippe's film is on the distinctly variable side, closer to one of those I Love... nostalgia-fests that are used to pad out the television schedules than to something valuable.

As a one-stop shop for learning a good amount about the film, 78/52 is compact and eventually meaty, anthologizing a number of disparate sources and pieces of information for quicker consumption. But still: this is more a DVD supplement than a movie...

This has to be the ultimate film for Hitchcock fans, a movie based on a movie scene. That scenei is probably one of the most famous scenes of a ll times: the Psycho shower scene. The scenei is analyzed in every way imaginable. Some what fascinating!

A bizarrely uneven mix of contributors make this whole film a very strange watch. It veers from trite nonsense to really interesting insight and then veers all the way back again. I'm enough of a Hitchcock nerd that I still enjoyed it but also enough of a nerd that I don't give a shit what anyone involved in the terrible remake have to say about the film!
