The film's second act ends too soon leaving an overlong third act more focused on the predictable romance between Alex's divorced mother and Nousha's visiting uncle than on the Nousha-Alex dynamic.

A Simple Wedding is never quite as complex as the title suggests. Yet its easy charms and efforts to revise, rather than rewrite, the book of rom-com love make it worth the RSVP.

This movie has its flaws, but it's sincere. And if you still enjoy the simple romantic comedies we used to indulge in back in the 80's & 90's, then allow yourself to enjoy A Simple Wedding.

Even if it's far from a groundbreaking film, A Simple Wedding is entertaining from beginning to end because of its unique take on cultures we normally don't see in American films.

Another look at a wedding and how it can go so wrong. Worth seeing to view the uniqueness of Shohreh Aghdashloo.

What can i say about a simple wedding,. It was a movie that tried to aim for the stars but had a problem with its take off itself. The movie has so much of potential of leaning into the side of vast difference that the Iranian culture has to offer, no it just seems to give passing nods to everything in its way. And lets not even get started on its 2nd act, the movie seems to be in such a hurry for there to some sort of conflict between the couple they themselves shove a conflict down our couples throat and then its like OOH OK now that we have taken care of that the obvious 3rd act is the sad, brooding, broken people sooooooo sad nah. And then tries sooo hard again to patch thing up nicely in the end so you know we all get that happy ending that every rom com should have no matter how we get there.

A pleasant little film. 'A Simple Wedding', in all honesty, isn't that funny a production, it didn't make me laugh out loud once really. However, it's actually a sweet romance story rather than a flat out comedy. Tara Grammy (Nousha) and Christopher O'Shea (Alex) have solid chemistry, none of their dialogue or anything feels awkward which is nice. Shohreh Aghdashloo, who I remember from TV's 'The Punisher', works ideally in her role as Ziba. The rest of the cast are well chosen, to be fair. It's nothing special, but I found this film rather charming.

A fantastic feel good movie with great laugh out loud moments. It was the perfect movie to cap the night. Check it out if you like romantic comedies, or just like feeling good and laughing.

Knew nothing about the movie, took a chance, and was glad I did. It's a delightful movie - great families, and lots of laughs.
