This campy, bloody, macho fight picture set in Northern Mexico is sure to find a niche audience. As Good as Dead is exactly the B-movie it aims to be, and its cast fits the bill perfectly, including a supporting performance from veteran Tom Berenger. The film is fun from start to finish. Michael Jai White kicks a lot of a*s with a nice variety of action set pieces. Go to Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound Dec 28, 2022

It is a rather rudimentary story but really will appeal to those who like old-school action films. Meaning a simple story, okay acting, cheesy dialogue, and plenty of ass kicking. Go to Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Dec 18, 2022
Michael Jai White delivers the goods as the hero who can take out villains with whatever is handy and have a funny quip when he is finished. The story is fast paced, exciting, and plays to its strengths. Go to Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Dec 16, 2022

A one point, Michael Jai White weaponizes a sprinkler system to spray acid on his enemies. Go to Full Review Kevin N. Laforest Extra Beurre Dec 15, 2022

Anonymous B @AnonBunnie Aug 24, 2025 They use CGI blood in this and its very, very obvious. I don't know why movies lately have stopped using SFX but it's a shame. Also the acting in this isn't too crash hot, if you want to watch a MJW movie, I'd recommend his older stuff. Hector (Iván) is a funny enough character though. See more Arlen B @Arlen170 Feb 11, 2025 Lots of great action. Story line could have been better See more Lemmiblog T @Lemmiblog May 24, 2024 SOLIDES ACTION KLISCHEE Ein Ex-Cop trainiert einen Jungen der von einer Bande schikaniert wird. Never mind the B-rated movie, some spot on bloopers on the action sequence, poor dialogue, poor acting by Luca Oriel and fast pace story line. I bet director R. Ellis Fazier should have done some creativity within the budget to turn the whole thing around with the presence of Michael Jai White and veteran Tom Berenger. Overall, it's intense and fun to watch considering the raw fight scenes by Mr. Mike, as usual... See more Read all reviews
