J.C. Wiatt (Diane Keaton) is a New York City businesswoman who is married to her job and has a relationship with Steven (Harold Ramis), a successful investment broker. J.C.'s life takes an unexpected turn when a relative suddenly dies and makes her the caretaker of a baby girl. Soon, the baby's arrival causes J.C. to lose first Steven, and then her job. She moves to Vermont and embarks on a series of life-changing events. But when offered the opportunity, will she return to her corporate ways?

Baby Boom is so far into the realm of fable as to be a cartoon, or a wish fulfillment. It's as if Frank Capra had read Ms. and missed the point.

"Baby Boom" is a classic of insipidity, oozing sexual stereotypes from every pore, with dialogue that can't tell the difference between bright and trite and a music score that may give cavities.

While not the most financially successful of the rash of baby flicks to emerge from Hollywood during the late '80s (that would be Three Men and a Baby), it was arguably the best.

Dianne Keaton is Miranda from SATC and Ramis just plays his Ghostbusters character so its kind of a low key double crossover movie (if you squint and pretend)

You just cannot go wrong with Diane I loved how she played that you know big corporate exec and then seeing her change into a more motherly role I watch it all the time love it I will miss her forever

A favorite movie that has stayed with me since it originally came out. Diane Keaton fills a unique space in womens roles, with a Katherine Hepburn type grace, humor, strength, and unforgettable perseverance.

Despite many negative reviews, I liked this movie. I thought both the baby and Diane Keaton were excellent. It had great production and in my opinion a very interesting story.
