Still, there's Clarkson, who provides a terrific shot of screen authority (at least by B-movie standards), making one wish she was a sole focus of "Barbarian Queen." Go to Full Review

Hans Dieter H @RT00043584 5d "Barbarian Queen" is unfairly labeled as glorifying violence. Beautiful, brave women fight for good. Queen Amethea never becomes violent or aggressive of her own accord. She merely reacts to the evil ones. What's appealing about her character: she's not an invincible superwoman. A heroine who also relies on the help of others. For example, when Arrakur prepares to deliver the fatal blow to the already unarmed, defenseless queen, her younger sister Taramis (Dawn Dunlap) saves her life. The excellent actress Dawn Dunlap delivers another compelling performance, this time as a traumatized victim of violence. The film may contain brutal scenes. But Hector Oliveira's film simply shows, unflinchingly, what war is like, then as now. Amethea and her allies find themselves in situations where you simply can't read the law to villains! See more 07/17/2016 Everything you could want in a terrible knock off of Conan done on the cheap, awful sword fights, nudity, orgies, and low-rent sets. Aces!
