Critics Consensus

Below Her Mouth delivers two understated performances of intrigue leading the way for gratuitous erotica with no plot, no character development, unsavory dialogue, and enough nudity to bore.

The recycled dialogue and characters in this movie that haven't been updated to reflect a change in the tides... have absolutely no business being in a movie in the great year of our lord, 2017.

Below Her Mouth's more significant claim to relevance is its all-female crew, but while Maya Bankovic's cinematography is typically fine, the production is unfortunately in the service of subpar material.

C-

It's a fittingly ambiguous title for a directionless film, late night fare that will be enjoyed by just as many horny men as horny teenage lesbians. Think of it as equal opportunity erotica.

Though at times nakedly exploitative, Below Her Mouth is nonetheless a powerful drama about two people falling deeply in love; beautiful erotica doesn't get much better.

What Mullen's film lacks in a strong story, it makes up for in its charged eroticism. Some viewers may feel the need to head for the bathtub Dallas enjoys so blissfully.

An excellent film about a torrid affair between a lesbian accustomed to clandestine encounters and a woman married to a man, who allows herself to be swept up by curiosity and the desire to be with another woman. Well-shot, featuring plenty of nudity and intense scenes, it was one of the first—and remains one of the best—erotic films on Netflix.

One of the best lesbian movies I’ve seen. Acting is phenomenal and shows how growing up with societal pressures from a mysoginistic viewpoint can push you into relationships that you don’t actually want to be in. The characters show how love conquers all regardless of stigmas and societal “norms”.

Canadian film that feels cheap and low budget. Not a terrible story line but the whole movie felt hollow. Graphic sex but no passion.

Below her Mouth successfully reveals that first lusty gasp of new love. It is not terribly deep but it is well done with attractive stars and performances. The affair goes off the rails quite believably in its confusion. Arguably the stars really did enjoy themselves. Yes it’s obvious they really made love and had real sex making its scenes, although it does not have explicit pornographic-style photography. I don’t consider this pornography and as they say, I’d rather see people in love than people killing each other. Some will disagree. Nevertheless, it certainly has an audience that will find its sensitive portrayal of lesbian love story engaging

I felt that this movie is TOXIC for me. I felt like the story doesn't match together and it's being comprehensively unconnected. I don't recommend that movie tbh.
