After her lover (Justin Timberlake) leaves to serve in the military, Rae (Christina Ricci) gives in to her raging libido and leaps into a life of wild abandon. Lazarus (Samuel L. It was beautiful in my honest opinion. You have to have a deep understanding of what the characters have been through, its not just smut or porn its trauma and finding God in all of it :) finding peace.

Black Snake Moan is another solid 2007 film that stands out for its raw, unconventional storytelling and strong character focus. It blends drama, blues-infused atmosphere, and dark emotional themes into something that feels very different from typical mainstream films. What makes it work is the intensity of the performances and the way the film leans into flawed, damaged characters trying to find some form of redemption. The tone is gritty but also oddly soulful at times, helped by its strong sense of music and setting. It’s not a comfortable watch, and it definitely takes risks that may not land for everyone, but that’s part of its identity. It commits fully to its style and mood without holding back. Overall, Black Snake Moan is a bold, memorable drama with strong acting and atmosphere, earning a 7/10.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

I loved this movie, but I have a rather dark sense of humor. If you are easily shocked, this one's not for you. Though it is very sexual, they really used a rather light touch, considering the subject matter. It never feels cheap.

3 stars is the average of a great soundtrack paired with a not great movie. More of Christina Rucci than I ever wanted to see or hear. Her voice grated on me, made me cringe every time she shrieked her lines. Not a movie I'll watch again.
