What to Know

Critics Consensus

Burnt offers a few spoonfuls of compelling culinary drama, but they're lost in a watery goulash dominated by an unsavory main character and overdone clichés.

It's all too familiar, too rudimentary, and while the kitchen they're working in is top-of-the-line the meal they ultimately prepare isn't that much better than a Denny's breakfast left under the heat lamps a few minutes too many. Go to Full Review

Burnt is, to be clear, not a good movie. It is in fact a pretty terrible movie. Go to Full Review

Mostly, I thought Burnt was ridiculous. And yet I cannot tell a lie. Its familiar beats, comely cast, and lively kitchen montages entertained me. Go to Full Review

Due entirely to his talent and appeal, two hours of Bradley-being-Bradley works and the film will rightly entertain at an acceptable superficial level. Go to Full Review

Despite all of the beautiful cuisine and energetic kitchen chaos, “Burnt” is simply a half-baked redemption tale. Go to Full Review

WILLIAM PAUL A @Paul9 1d Good cast and enjoyed the movie See more jim C @RT03958619 5d Good cast awful script and chopped up all over the place very dated for a 2015 film the characters motivations are impossible to get to grips with. Needed a car chase and some gun play See more Gustavo Joel P @GusFromBsAs Feb 18 If you like shows like House M.D. or Elementary... Ignore the reviewers. You'll love this movie. I've been obsessed with it for years now. If spoilers weren't an issue I'd tell the lot of you exactly why. It's a good movie and a good story. See more Derek B. @Dawg102015 Feb 1 Great movie. Worth a watch. Don’t listen to the reviewers. See more Elizabeth F. @Joliezabeth1 Jan 26 The negative reviews of this film confound me. Having worked with 3-star Michelin chefs/kitchens I can attest to the veracity of their representation herein; the culinary mastery of this picture stands alone as a true winner. Brad Cooper is splendid in his role as a bruised but not broken commodity; his French is excellent, and he inhabits the role with great authenticity, encompassing his bearing, his every movement in the kitchen. His relationships with Tony, his mandatory therapist, Rhys and every member of his staff ring true and meaningful. Actors all played their parts well, however it just feels like something was missing but I can't quite put my finger on it. See more Read all reviews
