Oz S @Ozsoffy Mar 9 Central Intelligence is a fun and light action-comedy that relies heavily on the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The story follows a former bullied kid who grows up to become a CIA agent and reconnects with a former classmate who now lives a very normal life. Together they get dragged into an international espionage mess. The plot itself is pretty simple and predictable, but the movie works because of the humor and the contrast between the two leads. Johnson plays against his usual tough-guy image with a surprisingly goofy and awkward character, while Hart delivers his typical fast-talking comedic energy. The action scenes are solid and the tone stays playful throughout. It’s not a deep or groundbreaking film, but it’s entertaining and easy to watch if you’re looking for a comedy with some action. See more Blu B @RT43513976 Jan 28 Honestly it feels like they had a leftover CIA action flick script and a high school comedy one lying around and decided to merge the two together. You'd get something like this. The humor is very flat 90% of the time, kind of predictable, but does get a chuckle to keep the comedy on life support in a sense. The pacing & editing in general is alright. Everything else is half decent with basic direction to boot. The two got some chemistry and some of the action isn't bad. But the spy plot feels over the top and ridiculously complex which is why they inturrupt with plot expose every now and than. Than the high school stuff again just feels out of place at times and from a completely different film. It probably would've gotten a 3.5 if the humor would've landed better for me but a lot was just so flat. I'd say unless your a die hard fan of the duo most could skip this and not miss much. There isn't much distinct about ti for either genre it's dipping it's toes into.
