Allyn is entirely too interested in Simmers’ police work, meaning high-pitched chases and strong-arm interrogations, to strike the right balance between his day job and his earnest efforts to help his daughter.

Clean Hands is a well-meaning and generally well-performed domestic drama, but it sometimes tips too far in the direction of a crime thriller of sorts, betraying its central story in a myriad of different ways.

As a feature-length PSA for Brooke's House, the drug treatment center started by former police officer Kevin Simmers in memory of his daughter Brooke, Clean Hands is well-intentioned, but as drama it's a dreary slog.

Clean Hands is an incredibly moving movie. I had heard about this story, and have seen Jake Allyn’s screenwriting and acting in other blockbuster films several times prior. Zach Braff portrays and hard hitting narcotics cop who wants to clean up the streets, while his own daughter (played perfectly by Esther McGregor) becomes addicted. It’s an emotional ride, very real story, and ends with strong conviction to start a rehab center in honor of his daughter.

I really loved this movie. Zach Braff and Esther McGregor were both amazing. As a parent, watching a father try so hard to help his daughter while he was suffering too was absolutely heartbreaking. What made the story even more powerful for me was knowing that he took all of that pain and turned it into something good. Seeing how he went on to help other women through Brooke’s House in real life was incredibly moving and made the movie stay with me

It's an inspiring story about turning a tragedy into a triumph by helping hundreds of women who want to escape drug and alcohol addiction. A portion of every download will help Brooke's House - a Hagerstown, MD addiction treatment and recovery home. The woman going through treatment receive job training as well for the next stage if their life.

This started out as a light hearted but gritty action packed movie but it really shined when it focused on the struggles and tragedies of the opioid epidemic. It struck a nice balance between realism and emotional connections forged through shared adversity.
