Critics Consensus

Its occasional use of split screen may feel gimmicky at times, but Conversations With Other Women is a bold, inventive drama carried by its two charismatic leads.

I was hooked to the screen, to the film's sense of time and place and risk, to the intelligence of the talk and the intimations of pleasure and regret in Bonham Carter's performance.

The film ultimately becomes too contrived to be anything but a fleeting diversion, but kudos to these emerging filmmakers for daring to make something a little bit different and, for the most part, intriguing.

The charm of Conversations With Other Women, a gimmicky but oddly moving two-character drama that flies in from who knows where, is its intelligent knowingness.

...although infused with a number of truthful moments and an awfully romantic atmosphere, director Hans Canosa's use of split-screen remains a distraction throughout the film's admittedly brisk running time.

Helena was great! Captivating script and the movie flowed.

What is clearly intended to be a cute romance in reality is just two unfaithful crappy people who in actuality probably are perfect for each other 2.2. I’m not against a movie that is purely dialogue but I could never get drawn in during this movie

The cuts to previous scenes brilliant. He chased her for nine years and those cuts make this unique. Also his love rings true. Her love is romantic while his love endures.

Few days ago I wrote: "I do not mind spend some time with just two characters (Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, anyone?) but when the characters in question are annoying the experience become way less charming." This was in regard of Blue Jay (2016). Well this movie is another example that I really do not mind. I am not sure I will remember this simple film for much long, but "Conversation(s) with other women" is an hour and a half well spent.

Honestly, it was quite different and I really liked the style. However, I wish it wasn't a 13-year-old movie when I just watched it. I"m normally not a fan of Helena Bonham but I was impressed this time.

Two-character drama uses a split screen to help ease the tedium.
