Even for an early‑2000s superhero movie, it feels messy, awkward, and honestly boring. The tone is inconsistent, the story doesn’t flow, and the characters never feel believable. The romance with Elektra is rushed, Bullseye is goofy, and Fisk feels like he’s trying too hard to seem intimidating. There are a few moments where I can see what they were aiming for, but nothing comes together. The action is weak, the dialogue is rough, and the whole movie feels outdated in a way that isn’t charming. Compared to modern superhero films — or even other early‑2000s ones — this sits near the bottom for me. In short: A clunky, poorly executed superhero movie that never finds its footing. Definitely one of my least favorites. See more William S. @RT74594996 Jun 18 I remember watching the theatrical version when I was a kid, and I enjoyed it then. As an adult, I heard that the Directors cut was far superior, so I gave it another go. It's still not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but I can't imagine sitting through it without the directors cut. I don't know what stuff was added or why the directors cut is better, but I probably would have collapsed if the movie were any worse. What it ended up being was a tolerable delve into a character that has been explored much much more effectively in a modern TV setting. Dont go into this film expecting anything essential about daredevil to be revealed. Its entirely missable for anyone but ultra fans of daredevil who want every piece of content possible, good or bad.
