But for the rest, nothing really special in my opinion. It's more gore (more violence), but less sexual than the original. Overall, I didn't feel the need for this remake, personally. The plot is very simple, yet it's definitely engaging and Bruce Willis pulls out a final bullet in the chamber for his successful career, with a great performance. Eli Roth hasn't made many "mature" or "serious" films in his career, however this is dark, violent and has tension which literally has left me nail-less. Bruce Willis has charm, and to say he did many cheap movies before his retired, this wasn't one. And could even go down as one of his best movies and performances, (certainly has a right of top 10). Also the REAPER ALERT sound button made me giggle. You can't help but root for a vulnerable dad, doctor whom Willis plays sweetly and I love Eli Roth's blood and gore. He needs more serious film like this with gore and over the top films like his 2023 Horror/Comedy "Thanksgiving ". It's simple, but works so well.
