This Chinese/American mash-up production gave me mad vibes for The Meg. Same story structure, impossible love plot, kids up in everyone's business, and cheesy shark effects. Not as much humor as The Meg but still fun nonetheless.

I’ll just say that it’s nice to go to a theater and see a new Renny Harlin film. Deep Blue Sea still reigns supreme as my favorite shark movie from the veteran director. But, Deep Water is a solid effort. It harkens back to some of his best work and has a killer action set piece to boot. Seek it out on the largest screen you can find it on (preferably with the biggest bucket of popcorn and drink in hand).
