It’s easily [Tyler Perry's] worst film to date.

Yet another narrative metastasized beneath the ineptitude of Tyler Perry's quill, Divorce in the Black is an exploitative odyssey of the Black community and soap opera cliches.

It intrigued me with it's insane opening scene but it was all downhill from there. I did not enjoy watching this.

Unfortunately this is another misfire from Tyler Perry that is more frustrating than entertaining. There's an incredibly talented cast in this film but they're dragged down by cartoonish dialogue, inconsistent actions, and an incoherent plot.

If it wasn’t for the fact that Mea Culpa was Perry’s career-defining ode to awful, Divorce in the Black might have had a chance.

This is a romantic thriller that blends emotional drama with themes of abuse, resilience, and empowerment. The film has its performances and emotional depth. It offers a mix of suspense, romance, and social commentary. It succeeds in sparking conversation about toxic relationships and empowerment, even if its melodramatic style and ending divide audiences.

The beginning scene was terrible. Like who seriously grabs a dead body out of a casket. Overall not Tyler Perry’s worst film.

Watched this movie thinking it will be different. But I have to say I couldn’t actually believe how bad it was. To be honest the acting was not great and the whole thing seemed unrealistic. Really hard watch. I wouldn’t waste my time.

I love movies with good storylines, that keep me going and make me wonder what's going to happen next. This was not one of those movies, not after the first 7 minutes anyway.
