retro b @retrobite 2d It is, without a doubt, the mechanical repetition of the screwball comedy from the forties, but with its artisanal charm amputated at the root. A pamphlet that naturalizes the class hierarchy under the cloak of family unity. The film reinforces the idea that the solution to inequality is the emotional charity of the privileged or the assimilation of the oppressed into the bourgeois lifestyle. There is no critique of the political father's power structure, nor of the vacuity of the protagonist's corporate success; it is a piece of propaganda that celebrates the domestication of instinct. ¿Qué culpa tiene el niño? (What fault does the child have?) The fault lies with this cinema that wants us to swallow the fantasy of Santa Fe and Las Lomas! There is no sweat, there is no blood, only slapstick jokes about class difference. Pure cinema for people who are afraid of the street. See more Read all reviews
