A team of space marines known as the Rapid Response Tactical Squad, led by Sarge (Karl Urban), is sent to a science facility on Mars after somebody reports a security breach. There, they learn that the alert came after a test subject, a mass murderer purposefully injected with alien DNA, broke free and began killing people. Dr. Grimm (Rosamund Pike), who is related to team member Reaper (The Rock), informs them all that the chromosome can mutate humans into monsters -- and is highly infectious.

Characters keep disappearing and reappearing without explanation and comic moments and moral messages - don't do drugs, genetic tampering is wrong - jar against the action backdrop.

Doom somehow takes a game about demons from Hell invading a military base on Mars and turns it into a boring and cliché-ridden film technically devoid of demons entirely...

Everything about this movie was simply great. Despite its age, the CGI was better than almost every modern film. There are unexpected twists. The characters are interesting. The aliens were believable. There wasn't gratuitous gore and the violence was well-measured. They were even ballsy enough to give the film a very solid nod to the actual FPS experience, which I thought was simply fantastic. I've never played Doom, but after watching the movie, I really wanted to... and that's how it should be.

Doom, starring Dwayne" The Rock" Johnson and Karl Urban and directed by Andrzei Bartkowiak. It is a very bad movie, but I enjoyed it. This is a video game based sci-fi horror film based on Doom’64 on the Nintendo 64, I love the game, but the movie kind of let it down. But, the action sequences were ultra-violent and cool. Overall, I give Doom a 5.3/10 or a 2.9/5 stars.
