This offbeat and disturbing yet enthralling drama constructs an imagined world that displays a continued solidification of the distinctive personal voice and style of Mexican director Manolo Caro.

Down the Rabbit Hole is an immersive and quietly hypnotic tapestry of poignant characters, themes and visuals, couched in a tonally taut narrative marbled with darkly funny satire and intellectual drama.

I love this adaptation. It brings the book to life well and the scenery definitely immersed me into the perspective of the main character. Like being in Plato's cave and coming out of it.

Mexican interpretation of something from a Wes Anderson universe. Visually appealing sets, but the movie doesn't have much to say beyond that. Many uncomfortable moments, particularly with callousness towards animals.
