By echoing the atomic fears within the post-war society, Sekizawa avoids Ebirah merely being a reworked copy of his previous narratives.

A lot of people put this one on the low-end of the series, but I have fun with it.

Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster is... not so great. It feels small and trifling and, well, a bit dumb.

Exemplifies the peak of the Godzilla franchise's tonal shift into campy, fun territory, a phenomenon that reflected the series' absorption of 1960s Western pop-culture influences.

A decent film at best, a flimsy and uninvolving film at worst, and a discouraging sign that the days of Godzilla as a serious, interesting threat were now officially dead and buried.

This is one of the silliest but also one of the more amusing Godzilla movies.

I did not like this film. Originally King Kong was supposed to be in it, but at last second they had to take them out and Godzilla took his place. In which makes this film weird and bad. They’ve been using the suit in this movie for a few years now and it’s all warp down due to water scenes. Speaking of water scenes the scenes where Godzilla fought and some of the standalone enirah scenes were nice. But I gotta say this might be the worst Godzilla film.

The human plot is good, and the red bamboo is underrated. But Godzilla doesn’t appear until an hour in, Godzilla also doesn’t get a lot of screen time, Mothra’s filler, Ebirah’s an underwhelming villain, the fights suck, and Godzilla falls in love with a girl which was gladly never a thing again. It’s not the worst Godzilla film tho.

The rock volleyball? Cheering for Godzilla finally? Hawaii 5-0 styled music? I actually kinda loved this one and Ebirah is really cool.

It’s fine, but it REEKS of the fact that it supposed to be a Kong film.
