Critics Consensus

A brutal and effective British hoodie-horror that, despite the clichés, stays on the right side of scary.

An effectively harrowing Brit thriller-cum-horror pic whose yuppie protags' weekend getaway runs violently afoul of the local youth. Go to Full Review

It is impossible not to admire the way Watkins ratchets up the tension in his debut as director (he wrote My Little Eye) and keeps his tale strictly to 90 minutes. Go to Full Review

Eden Lake is an exercise in endurance. First, we endure extremely questionable decisions from the main characters, and then we must endure the consequences of those decisions. Technically, the film is well done, but why would anyone want to watch it? Go to Full Review

Robert S @RT93220367 Apr 30 Eden Lake is a very disturbing little adventure. And it will make you feel frustrated, dirty, and indignant. It is one of the rare movies that sticks to its convictions, and doesn’t wimp out to appease the audience. Yes there is rampant brutality and that’s the jagged edge this world spins on; it is a horror that cuts all those involved to pieces. See more qoheleth52 T @RT15557306 Apr 29 Hot garbage! If you get through to the end and don't hate almost everything about this revolting film, you need to question your own sanity. What a disaster. See more blunder . @RT56406877 Apr 12 shit movie,! 90 mins of my life i'll never get back. who tf comes up with this kind of garbage?? atleast put a spoiler at the start that this movie doesnt have a satisfying ending! See more Saad A @RT03872760 Apr 5 Anyone giving positive reviews to this movie is either profiting or a sadist. It builds tension only to throw it away with a pointless, unsatisfying ending. Not worth it. I feel sorry at the state of mind of the makers. See more Shoham C @Chara331 Mar 21 It isnt insanely low because the story is bad, its fantastic, its that the teenagers are so realistic its maddening, would like to see a different version of this film not as this stupid teenager horror movie. See more Stanny R @StannyMC Mar 9 Quite a good film, terrifyingly possible scenario. The ending is good but the morbidity of it deters me from a rewatch. See more Read all reviews
