Critics Consensus

A breezy portrait of bohemian Warsaw elevated by Charli XCX's poised, quietly commanding performance, Erupcja unfurls as a refreshingly genuine, contemplative drama that lingers with understated grace.

What I like about the film is that it captures the rhythm of being in a new landscape and how it can change you. Go to Full Review

Despite the narrow visual confines, there’s space for the characters and relationships to reveal themselves. We feel dropped into the bohemian corners of Warsaw. Go to Full Review

The characters may get bounced around a bit and some will feel stranded, but you’ll know you’ve been taken somewhere new by this charming indie. Go to Full Review

Ohs’ latest is quirky and interesting but never feels substantial. That’s perhaps an accurate representation of characters who themselves remain immature and indecisive. But it makes this breezy divertissement... feel almost weightless. Go to Full Review

It’s a deceptively slight, engagingly effervescent, and sneakily profound study of desire, self-deception, and the mysteries of synchronicity. Go to Full Review

"Erupcja" is about the feeling you get when you revisit a city or a person who you once fell in love with, and how it can be great, but it’s never quite the same. Because you’re never quite the same. Go to Full Review

jesse v 1d This is now the second shortest film to premiere in theaters, next to Look Back. But unlike that movie, this could have been a 52 minute tv episode if you cut all the unnecessary environmental shots and hanging scenes. See more Ari S @LSpink Apr 28 This is my first review. I felt compelled to write one because it legitimately bothered me how terrible this movie is. It is quite possibly the worst movie ever made. If the star of the film were not in it I am positive this would not have been made because the effort to make an actual film just isn’t there. At 70’minutes I could not wait for it to end. And when it did I was kind of upset with myself for watching it. I thought, how dare someone waste my time like that. But hey I guess it’s just a movie. No, somebody is thought, I have nothing to do so I will make bad dogshit. Cool. It also is abysmal to look at. God I hated this movie more than I’ve hated anything in quite some time. The worst part is I’m seeing some folks tolerate it and it’s making me feel like I need a brain scan because either they or lying or something is wrong with me…or them…because it is just such a stupid bore. A volcanic eruption? What the hell are you talking about? I didn’t see one. And why does it matter! See more Read all reviews
