Dakota P @DaCinephile 2d Childhood nostalgia couldn’t save Flubber, and I really thought it would. Plotlines were downright lazy, borderline creepy, and almost entirely unnecessary. (I understand there’s an original, so perhaps they were staying true to the source material?) Flubber as a concept could have been used to tell a much better story, I imagine. Today, a childhood memory died. Not to be dramatic or anything. It is well acted, and both Weebo and Flubber look fantastic in Disney’s upscale for streaming. The quality of the effects genuinely surprised me.  There’s a better science fiction movie hiding inside Flubber.  The green goo needed more screen time and less time should have been spent convincing us that Robin Williams should be rooted for.
