It’s smart, but not cleverly written. Still, though the editing is choppy and the thin narrative is incongruous, these shortcomings allow “Forbidden Fruits” to feel like an appropriately robotic testimony to what going to the mall is like today.

There is so much to these women that, for an interpersonally-based cinema junkie like me, I can see returns to this flick becoming a regular habit. I even know what I want to focus on the 1st time I watch it again. Performances are off the charts from all parties with regard to specific stakes, histories, & authenticity to the world of the film. And while its not exactly a horror movie per s, the horror genres kind of all over it.

I really wanted to like this movie. But instead of giving the characters any believable nuance they dumbed them down so far that so much of it felt corny. The only reason I didnt give it one star is that most of the actors powered through the bad dialogue and scattered storyline with strong performances.
