Critics Consensus

Sensitive but not insightful, Fragments pieces an ensemble together in the same way Crash did but without the gravitas.

The grand statement it wants to make plays shallow instead of deep, leaving the film too weak-kneed to carry the weight of its broken world. Go to Full Review Paul Schrodt Slant Magazine Aug 4, 2009

Fragments is both deeply self-serious and essentially meaningless, the sort of we're-all-connected tragedy in which birds fly free while humans remain stuck in place. Go to Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Jan 31, 2010

Robert P @Superbad Sep 22, 2026 Winged Creatures = a *2* star Movie! See more Patrick R. @trick413 Dec 27, 2025 I thought Dakota Fanning was mesmerizing, as always, even if she's quite unlikeable. The main characters are almost all unlikeable. But it's artsy and if you're not a critic, you might enjoy it enough. See more georgan g @RT98616417 Oct 20, 2020 The way the story unfolded was confusing, but an interesting plot. See more steve d @RT35616104 Jun 26, 2020 Extremely dull despite the strong cast. See more Jun 17, 2015 150808: Tough film to watch at times. Impactful yet weak components if placed under scrutiny. Gave me a lot to think about in some ways and annoyed me in others. I guess that is what it was meant to do. See more Jun 9, 2014 Interesting movie...definitely not a "feel good" film. It's not awful, but it's not super good either. It shows several traumatized characters and their life's after witnessing a shooting and as far as demonstrating their grieving process, it's good. As far as all the other film aspects, it's give or take. See more Read all reviews
