After saving New York City from a ghost attack, the Ghostbusters -- a team of spirit exterminators -- is disbanded for demolishing parts of the city during the battle. But when Ghostbuster Peter Venkman learns that spirits have taken an interest in his son, the men launch a rogue ghost-chasing mission. The quest quickly goes awry, landing them in court. But when the ghosts turn on the judge, he issues an order allowing the Ghostbusters to get back to work.

I prefer the first film but not by a lot. They are very similar. This one is funnier. They both have the same pacing issues. This has arguably more memorable moments but suffers from the lack of uniqueness and fails in the zeitgeist. It’s enjoyable and nostalgic enough to make it worth watching, even for viewers that didn’t grow up with this.

A rollercoaster of a movie with its highs and lows. The beginning and middle were good, but the plot holes and disappointing, lackluster ending and climax definitely held the movie back. All the good build up in the beginning and middle were thrown out the window because of that ending. Credit to where credit is due, the movie has great visuals with a good buildup to a lackluster climax. The characters were quite different but still enjoyable.

Boring. The only thing this movie had that was better than the first was the plot being a touch more consistent. Other than that, I'll forget about this one by tonight.

I think I am the only person who likes Ghostbusters 2 better than the original. The cast is more developed and the four ghostbusters seem like old friends and I like the return of Dana. I like how we see the ghostbusters get back in action after 5 years and that montage they show is really cool. Ghostbusters 2’s story is really good I like how the guy from the painting wants to enter the real world, but cannot so he needs to use a baby to transfer his spirit in to. Overall the story is better than the original because you do not really get into the whole story until the last 20-30 minutes of the original and you just see them going and busting ghosts. Which do not get me wrong I like, but this movie has a more centered story/plot. It also has great returning characters who work even better together than they did in the original.
