nefasto r @Nefasto Jan 27, 2019 Who seeds wind shall harvest storm. "Horses of God" is an inside look and study at the roots of extremism. The process is a bit slow and the film is not that great to be honest, but the theme is an important one and deserve to be discussed. Plus the emotional growth is steady from beginning to end, and that is definitely a point in favor of the movie. See more

Dec 1, 2015 The story is about the life in shanty town of a few kids that grow up with more harshness than love. They end up accepting the guidance of shady people with an ulterior motive that they embraced. They did not convinced me. I found that our "heroes" were mostly motivated by desperation than anything else and were simply ripe to harvest by more nefarious agents of evil. Maybe a simple catholic church in the shanty town could have resulted in a more happy ending... like in so many films I have seen. When the devil runs the church, what else than greater evil could come out of it? Allah is greater than this. See more

Mar 26, 2015 A remarkably quiet, subtle film about the personal and economic roots of Islamic radicalism. It's a little slow, but if you have the patience there's plenty to be found. See more

Dec 31, 2014 A sublime and artistic look at radicalization. See more

Dec 23, 2014 Suicide bombers are followed from child hood in this movie depicting the life and eventual formation of a group of suicide bombers who took part in the real life bombing in Casablanca in 2003. Very well done. Very sad. See more

Aug 30, 2014 If it's true it does not come as a novelty that many religious extremists in poor income countries emerge from below human neighborhoods and rough educations, this movie is a beautifully made description of that kind of story. It was impressive for me that, despite how rough it is to grow in those places, without any real hope about the future, the transformation from regular life to religious fanaticism and martyrdom was actually much faster (around one year) that I would believe to be the case. Overall a very well made movie about an issue everyone should care about. See more
