Critics Consensus

Despite the considerable talent of its leads, Going in Style is light on laughs and plays it safe far too often.

Originality is not the purpose of Going in Style, the kind of old-fashioned entertainment that gives old-fashioned entertainment a bad name.

Freeman and Arkin are spot on, but it is Caine who stands out.

Another of those films that pretends to show older people respect while actually treating them like comic nincompoops

The delicate balance between humor and pathos that informed the original has been replaced with broader gags and more blatantly manufactured sentiment.

Purely made to get a few good chuckles out of the audience who are probably all around the same age as these characters. Will easily appeal to that demographic...

I think most casual viewers-or at least the kinds of viewers who read reviews-won't find much worth recommending here, even if they're Zach Braff fans.

Better than the original, I don't know why it has such a low score. The movie tells a really funny , heartwarming and in some places sad story. This is a really good feel good movie. Check it out.
