a pleasant blast from the past with outstanding picture and sound 4k bluray upgrade quality making it feel like it was filmed this year. Finally getting to experience in the theatre first time ever having not been able to in my early childhood. Great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary on JB 007 day!

Rewatching all the bonds- Though I grew up to Moore and remember Connery from TV- Brosnan is probably my favorite. He just embodies Everything you would imagine James Bond to be, and that includes Craig, who is probably my 2nd favorite but has the benefit of being Bond in cinema modernity. I really like ALL of Brosnan's movies, this is my favorite though b/c of the video game= which is also my favorite. There are no Bond movies you shouldn't have in your collection.

Pierce Brosnan's debut as James Bond started off on the right foot. Thirty years after it's release "GoldenEye" stands the test of time. From the beginning the movie delivers. Once again, as we have seen for the majority of this celebrated film franchise, the movie starts off with a well done pre credit sequence. Brosnan is also helped by a terrific supporting cast. Academy Award winner Judi Dench may be the best "M" the James Bond film franchise has ever seen. She is excellent from the minute she steps on camera. Sean Bean does a good job as ally turned nemesis Alec Trevelyan. Famke Jansen is a little goofy as nucking futcase Xenia Onatopp. She does well in the role but the character could have been better developed. All in all. the Brosnan Era started off well. After repeated viewings "GoldenEye" is an adventure worth taking.

James Bond at the end of history. It's a remarkably great transitional movie, commenting on the end of the Cold War (and the franchise itself) without it becoming too meta or overbearing. Brosnan (incredible in the role) found success by melding all the things people liked about Connery and Moore into one performance.
