The beauty and delicacy of a flower seem a sharp contrast to the rough exterior of a prison inmate. Yet these two images are exactly what writer/director Joel Hershman brings together in Greenfingers, a story of redemption that not only tickles the funny bone, but touches the soul.

Critics Consensus

Greenfingers follows the British feel-good formula of underdogs somehow beating the odds, adding nothing new to this already saturated genre.

It's just too bad the intended charm is applied with a shovel instead of a trowel. Romantic comedy is a delicate flower that can be smothered by too much fertilizer. Go to Full Review

Greenfingers is by no means a poor film, mainly frustratingly pleasant, with any depth that could be applied to the redemption of a murderer cast aside to well-worn and all too familiar genre staples. Go to Full Review

Janet S @Janet825 16h It isn’t a great movie but it is a lovely story, old fashioned, positive, romantic. I loved it. There are so few just good stories that make you feel good and happy to be alive. And what an impressive cast. See more Ed L @ed65love 12/12/2024 Delightful film, full of humour and moving moments, great lines, and surprises. Sure, it has a few cliches, and a predictable ending, but so what? It's the journey that counts. It's a feel good film, enjoy it! See more 06/24/2022 Terrible acting. Cheesy plot. Cannot believe anyone likes this. How did they get Helen Mirren to give such a terrible performance? And no gardener could miss the dreadful clangers. (E.g. roses need frost protection?!) See more 10/27/2021 A feel good film about how awesome gardening is. Worth a watch for all the different hats Mirren wears. See more Courtney K @c0urtn3y 08/25/2018 this was delightful.
