Ultimately, the ensemble nature of this movie as well as the focus on celebrating Jewish culture and traditions help to make it feel worth watching for viewers of all backgrounds.

These two hours become easy to watch if only because you know you’d love to hang out with these people in real life. The delicious food and drinks don’t hurt, either.

Hanukkah on the Rocks sticks too close to the Hallmark formula and could do a better job with researching Chicago.

Among the handful of hallmark Chanukah movies out there, this one really stands out. It engages with Judaism earnestly and Marc Summers’ performance definitely stands out! While it does engage in some minor stereotypes and is ultimately just a lighthearted Hallmark holiday movie, it’s the first one I’ve seen that seems to actually have been written by people who care about engaging with the Jewish experience.

As corny as any Hallmark holiday movie but also chock full of Jewish references and stereotypes and Yiddishisms to make it clear it's different.

It was fun to watch Marc Summers portraying the grandfather as he was such a big part of many people's lives, who grew up watching Double Dare. It is also inspirational to know that you can be brave and try new things at any age! Mazel Tov! It was also fun to react to all the Jewish themes. This movie would make a great drinking game.
