Workaholic real estate agent Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) is accused by his wife, Sara (Marsha Thomason), of neglecting his son (Marc John Jefferies) and daughter (Aree Davis), so he takes the family on a vacation. Along the way, the family stops off at a sinister mansion that Jim has been asked to sell, only to discover it's haunted by Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) ; his stern butler, Ramsley (Terence Stamp) ; and two other servants who need some help breaking a curse.

The second act feels like filler. The most it attempts to be entertaining in the first two thirds is a few cgi moments and relying on Tiffany Haddish doing Tiffany Haddish schtick. The jokes land badly, the scares are weak, and the whole movie feels stuck in a cheesy, overacted loop that never gets better. The biggest problem is how forced everything feels. Nothing flows naturally, so even scenes that should be entertaining end up feeling cringe-worthy and exhausting. The story is thin, the characters are forgettable, and the movie never builds the kind of atmosphere a haunted house film needs. Honestly, i rate it a 0/10, it gave me a hard time just getting through it. A completely disappointing movie that wastes a good concept.
