The film is set mostly in a single hotel room, with minimal character development and a generic "psycho begins to happen" plot that fails to engage. The screenplay is disjointed and back-and-forth, never building tension or providing a coherent narrative, leaving the audience disconnected from both the characters and the supposed horror. Dialogue feels forced, pacing is inconsistent, and scenes lack purpose, making the story feel like a flatline. Directing choices are uninspired, failing to maintain suspense or develop atmosphere, while casting choices feel cheap and unconvincing. Overall, He Never Left squanders its potential, offering neither genuine scares nor compelling storytelling. "Scary" acting and "frightening" dialogue is what this made for direct streaming movie offers. Don't be sucked in by the positive reviews: they are false and fake.
