Stephanie T @RT02630668 Nov 12 A lump of coal disguised as a Christmas movie. The writing is painfully thin — filled with clichés, awkward dialogue, and setups that go nowhere. What could’ve been a fun mix of holiday cheer and heist humor ends up collapsing under the weight of its own plot holes. The acting doesn’t help matters; performances range from wooden to wildly over-the-top, as if no one got the same direction. Why not just make an entertaining movie that's *set* at Christmastime? (You know, like DIE HARD.) That's the genius of HOLIDAY HOLD-UP, a funny, twisty, take on the heist genre that will be a lot more relatable to most people than the flicks where a team of professional criminals goes for the biggest score ever. If you've ever felt unappreciated at work and wanted to get back at your boss, this one's for you.
