Once the premise kicks into high gear, Hush reveals itself as a finely craved one-trick pony. Go to Full Review

An effectively straightforward exercise in suspense, one that further positions Flanagan-who also made the year's well-received Ouija prequel-as a filmmaker with a strong grasp on horror's fundamentals. Go to Full Review

It’s a typical home invasion movie and the twist of having a deaf protagonist is inventive and works well. Go to Full Review

In the realm of suspense, 'Hush' stands out as a tightly wound thriller, driven by Kate Siegel’s performance and Mike Flanagan’s direction, which never misses a beat. Go to Full Review

With time and texture, it’s clear that star / co-writer Kate Siegel and director / co-writer Mike Flanagan are emitting a primal scream about power dynamics. "Hush" feels like a social howl shrewdly smuggled into the guise of genre entertainment. Go to Full Review

D T @RT72116672 12 hrs ago shittest movie i have ever watched. go fuck off See more reecy P @RT97790432 2 days ago Terrible fucking movie holy shit. Protagonist is mentally challenged and the amount of rage I had towards her cannot be put into words. Bad horror movies carry a pattern, where they force the main characters to make terrible decisions to put themselves into certain places and that's exactly what happened here. I've never seen anything like this movie-in a bad way See more Gutgyk123 T @RT45161308 3 days ago Genuinely the shittiest movie I have ever witnessed. 0/10 would not recommend to anyone ever. Characters are all mentally challenged to a concerning degree, I found myself wanting the protagonist to die because the character writing was so shit and there was zero explanation to why anything was happening and the characters utter stupidity made this a painful watch. See more Keith S @RT41469266 6 days ago Mostly well done except the movie does not develop the characters enough. See more Alex B @AlexBioni Oct 28, 2026 Can't Hear You Coming This is such an original slasher idea. It could've been another film like The Strangers, but Maddie being deaf adds suspense because the intruder can be right behind her without her hearing him. I'm a massive Mike Flanagan fan, and I love that Maddie's book is Midnight Mass, which he later adapted for Netflix. The film captures helplessness and isolation perfectly. I love the remote forest setting and the unique situations, from the intruder sending pictures to the bathroom scenes. His mask looks great, and he's brutal. One early kill is chilling because he keeps stabbing after the deed is done. Kate Siegel portrays Maddie's deafness exceptionally well. I love to hate the arrogant intruder and want him to lose. I also love Maddie troubleshooting and figuring out how to survive near the end. Some dialogue involving her sister feels wonky, but the film wastes no time and has great pacing.
