Story not so hot, lazy writing left a couple of holes and funny (peculiar) conversation lines... Cast relatively convincing in character. Great cinematography and visually stunning. Action, drama, suspense, intrigue and twists, but all slightly watered down. See more Chris L @Christoph2000 Mar 8 Hollow and completely lacking in energy, pretty much all the credit for this Bahamian-set action flick should go to cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, for almost all the underwater shots are an absolute feast for the eyes. It has nothing else to match, and it's no wonder both that Into the Blue has largely flown under the radar ever since and that Josh Brolin's career was stuck in the mud until No Country for Old Men if this is the kind of tripe he was making. James Frain proves for the zillionth time that us Brits make particularly menacing villains, but he's out of the picture after a single scene, which can't help but feel like a waste. Then again, this whole picture largely is. Great action and beautiful scenery. I hate that it is called a flop. Josh Brolin and the British actor from the movies 'Transit' and 'Reindeer Games' James Frain top off the great cast.
