Apr 10, 2024 50 years old and the late Bill Melendez continues his winning streak of the Peanuts gang and his animators Charlie Brown and the others have Easter coming up and they are too distracted by the other holiday sales going on Linus couldn't be more excited to see the Easter Beagle who he believes brings treats around this time of year Meanwhile Peppermint Patty and Marcie are attempting to make eggs but can't get it right Snoopy then makes a birdhouse for Woodstock of course it doesn't last long He even pictures himself dancing with Bunny-Wunnys (actual characters from a children's book series) There's no overall moral or payoff with this one although for Charlie Brown he's a character that continues to endure getting knocked down time and time again It's just a relaxing watch for the whole family set around the Easter holiday No big statement on religion or challenges the characters have to overcome, just a hint of faith Just very sweet, colorful, and funny as most of the specials are It is interesting though to learn that Charles Schulz actually wrote Bible passages in his early comic strips, it would upset many people of course but his intention was to convey a universal truth for little kids that they are like us preparing to go into the real world You could also interpret that everything is bought and sold through commercialization when it comes to the shopping mall scene Another timeless classic to add to the roster with a springlike feel to the production See more Oct 1, 2016 It just seems Peanuts can make a good tv special for any holiday, & this is a good example. See more Apr 26, 2015 It was a very good, funny and really fast-paced Peanuts animated holiday special. It had good animation, really colorful artwork, good voice cast, great characters, plenty of laughs, really good music and a very good story. This is one of the best Peanuts specials I've ever seen. Both kids and adults will like this one. See more Apr 20, 2014 another fun Charlie Brown holiday special granted this one has no real payoff at the end or valuable lesson to teach the young ones but it's still fun to watch the Peanuts gang take part in their own crazy antics for this one it's Easter and Linus just like before convinces everyone that a figure named the Easter Beagle delivers all the eggs and treats to children as per usual it's adorable watching Snoopy and Yellow Bird bounce off of one another the parts with Pepper Ann and Marcy are a laugh as they constantly try to prepare eggs for the hunt and the whole insertion of X-Mas is silly enough having Snoop be the Beagle bringing the joy all around still, what is Easter really about? that's the question the characters toss around See more Nov 26, 2013 another classic. simply charming and funny at times too. "you made egg soup!!!" lol See more Feb 8, 2013 Absolutely love anything Charlie Brown but the holiday specials are the best. This is no exception. See more Read all reviews
