He was the sole main focus, not allowing his guests to perform and let the audience enjoy their talents. To me it seemed like an exercise of his ego. Even being campy, his singing is terrible. We also watched Nate Bargatze's special, which was great, because he let his guests perform and shine in their own right. See more Eric C @RT85286345 12/10/2024 Ever have a friend who thought they were a better entertainer than they actually were, but no one was honest with them and they find out in the most public of ways that they really are not good? This had the feel of the really bad American Idol acts that they air just for entertainment (remember pants on the ground?) Ironically, it was the kind of flop late night TV hosts use for material. Jimmy is talented and will bounce back. I feel bad for his guests/friends who got a bit of the stink on them. A lot of the effects reminded me of Pee Wee’s Playhouse (RIP Paul Ruben) which was cool, but something was off in most of the skits. Maybe less lip synching, and dramatic recordings? The bloopers proved that most scenes would have been funnier live! I think the entire special would have been so much better if it was produced like an SNL episode. Sorry Jimmy.
