K G @KatyG-S Jul 28 Mainly a must see for stressed people with unwanted pregnancy. June is the it-girl who got pregnant when she would not want to & would not know what to do. She thinks of having an abortion but there was at least somebody protesting against it. Later on, now we can understand why there was both praise & criticism from pro-abortion people & anti-abortion people. BTW, I found it interesting the time lapse is seasonal so we could see the phase of pregnancy - something makes it special. The ending suggests that the movie was anti-abortion, Juno left her biological newborn son to be adopted & loved by another couple. Just good to see Juno & her boyfriend, Bleek, happier together. The dialogue is funny, sarcastic, and full of personality, but beneath the clever phrasing is a sincere story about a teenager facing an adult situation before she is emotionally ready for it. Elliot Page gives the film its emotional honesty, making Juno sharp, guarded, immature, funny, and vulnerable without letting her become just a collection of quirky one-liners. Jennifer Garner is also excellent, bringing real longing and tenderness to Vanessa. Jason Reitman gives the movie a light, intimate rhythm, helped by the music and small-scale visual style. The main weakness is that the dialogue can feel too self-conscious, and the pregnancy storyline sometimes feels a little too tidy or charming. Still, Juno is good, memorable, and emotionally warmer than its sarcastic surface suggests. Lo que hace a esta película especial es que tiene una linda historia con un valioso mensaje. Las jóvenes que pasan por un embarazo deben ser fuertes como Juno. Los adultos no deben subestimar a las jóvenes porque algunas son más maduras de lo que aparentan. Y en medio del dilema sobre abortar o no abortar existe una tercera opción que no se debe ignorar. Todo esto forma parte del mensaje que hace de Juno una considerable joya del cine independiente. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 9/10. The acting in the movie was incredible, and the story and journey of the characters left me hooked from start to finish. I definitely recommend it for comedy and drama fans!
