The son of a wealthy presidential candidate has just been kidnapped. The kidnappers are demanding a hefty ransom. Doc and Zoe are two amateur gangsters -- and soccer freaks -- who must deliver the young man to their ruthless boss. Impulsive Zoe accidentally kills the candidate's son. Faced with a terrible fate for killing their hostage, Doc and Zoe stumble upon Patrick and his nine-month-pregnant wife, Laura. The young couple must, at all costs, catch a flight out of Haiti to give birth in the US to get citizenship for their baby. Patrick's great misfortune is that he looks exactly like the senator's dead son. In the midst of a heated election and a Barça-Real classico match, Doc and Zoe find themselves at the center of a political conspiracy.

It's this heightened reality that gives “Kidnapping Inc.” its distinct flavor, a sense of chaos that spares no one, that’s so over-the-top, it’s hard not to laugh at the outsized reactions and the story of characters double and triple crossing each.

Mourral has soaked in a lot of Tarantino as well as other American crime movies, so the film moves swiftly. And his two leads, Jasmuel Andri and Rolaphton Mercure are top-notch. The end results are rather disappointingly vapid, but fun.

anything around Haiti is often sad, this movie was able to talk about a serious societal problem, kidnapping, talk about politicians and power and greed and still have a human story, sprinkled with humor all rapped into one. congratulations

Although this film portrays the harsh reality of what occurred over several years in what was once a beautiful country, the director succeeds in addressing this sensitive, painful, and violent subject with subtlety, using dark humor and the innocence of the characters to soften the impact and even bring moments of laughter. On a technical level, the film also demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, rivaling other works in the same genre. Hats off to the entire team. I truly loved it.

The first Haitian feature film to premiere at Sundance, this action-comedy-turned-drama offers a gripping dive into Port-au-Prince, Haitian culture, and the harsh realities Haitians face daily. Get ready to laugh, be surprised, and stay on the edge of your seat as two hapless kidnappers stumble through a series of misadventures. It's a must-see!
