The story centers on drag performers and gay men, presenting a world dominated by drugs, sex, and violence. These characterizations feel narrow and misleading rather than offering thoughtful representation. The screenplay struggles to offer anything beyond shock value. The acting is extremely weak, making it difficult to become invested in the characters. Instead of building suspense, the film leans on provocative situations that quickly become tiresome. It feels more interested in getting a reaction than telling a compelling horror story. Ultimately, Killer Unicorn confuses being provocative with being entertaining. Controversial subjects can make compelling cinema, but they need purpose and meaningful storytelling. This film never finds that balance. Between the weak performances, questionable characterization, and underdeveloped screenplay, I cannot recommend it. See more

Aug 23, 2020 A serial killer dressed as a hot unicorn strikes horror in West Hollywood when he targets a group of friends. It's a fairly generic setup with a queer twist. The acting is not great but the movie is surprisingly fun with some cool kills. The movie obviously struggles with budgetary constraints but makes good on what it has which includes a super campy and fun villain. 6.5/10 See more
