What to Know

Critics Consensus

Equal parts harrowing and unsentimental in its evocation of the brutal grind of hospital work, Late Shift clocks in as an accomplished character study with a superb Leonie Benesch front and center.

Benesch’s beautifully controlled performance — a balancing act of anxious, fidgety physicality and poker-faced concentration — shows us the difficulty of honoring each patient’s humanity when workplace conditions demand efficiency over empathy. Go to Full Review
